ADA offers institutional subscribers access to the journal(s) online at a localized site. "Sites" are considered an organizational unit, and may be academic or nonacademic. For institutions located in more than one city, each city office is considered a different site. For institutions within the same city that are administered independently, each office is considered a different site.
An institutional subscription entitles the subscriber to one print subscription plus online access from five IP addresses at one site. An institutional site license allows unlimited access from all IP addresses at a given site.

Online Access
If your issues are shipped directly from ADA, please use the 9-digit customer number on the mailing label to Activate Your Institutional Online Subscription. When activating your online subscription, you will need to provide the IP addresses for the access license.
NOTE: A regular institutional subscription is limited to five IP addresses; no wildcards or ranges can be used. A site license includes access from all IP addresses at a given location; wildcards (indicated by an asterisk) are acceptable in both the third and fourth segments of the IP address; a range (indicated by a dash) may be used in either the third or fourth segment but not in both. If you subscribe through a book agent and the issues are shipped from their collection place, your sign-in information will be provided by your agent.
Campus Activated Subscriber Access
HighWire and Google co-developed CASA (Campus Activated Subscriber Access) as an authentication enhancement that improves the authentication for off-campus users of Google Scholar. CASA is free and is automatically enabled for all HighWire-hosted Journals that are indexed in Google Scholar, including the ADA journals Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Clinical Diabetes, and Diabetes Spectrum.
How does it work? When a user is on-campus, they often connect to a University network. When connected, if they visit Google Scholar, Google automatically creates an affiliation between that user and their institution. This affiliation allows Google Scholar to record that the user has subscription privileges granted by that institution. With Google CASA, this same seamless authentication follows the user when they take their device to any off-campus location. Once the affiliation is created, it grants them immediate access to the articles and Journals that their institution subscribes to even when the user is off campus.
Please note: Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, effective March 11, 2020, the activation period for CASA off-site tokens has been extended from 30 to 120 days.
