ADA JOURNALS Online SUBSCRIBER HELP & SERVICES:
Institutional Subscriptions

[ COST ] [Frequently Asked Questions] [Terms and Conditions]

For the most part, an institutional subscription authorizes use of the online journal at a localized site. A "site" is an organizational unit, and may be academic or nonacademic. For organizations located in more than one city, each city office is considered a different site. For organizations within the same city that are administered independently, each office is considered a different site.

For example, each campus in the State University of New York system is considered a different site, and each branch or office of UpJohn Laboratories is considered a different site.

For the American Diabetes Association journals, one institutional subscription is entitled to one print subscription plus online access from five (5) IP addresses at one site; an institutional site license allows unlimited access from all IP addresses at a given site.

Individuals who are not ADA members may subscribe at the Individual (Non-Member) level, at the Institutional level, or may want to consider applying for ADA membership.

Ordering Procedure

To subscribe, you must follow your usual "new serial" ordering procedures to subscribe to the paper version of DIABETES (ISSN 0012-1797), DIABETES CARE (ISSN 0149-5992), DIABETES SPECTRUM (ISSN 1040-9165), or CLINICAL DIABETES (ISSN 0891-8929), which also provides access to the online version. Payment should be made to your subscription agent or directly to ADA.

Once payment is received by ADA or your serial vendor, allow 6-8 weeks to receive your first issue. If your issues are shipped directly from ADA, the 15-digit subscriber number on the mailing label will allow you to activate your institutional subscription online.

When you activate your online subscription, you will need to provide:

Contact name, title, phone, fax, and email

The IP addresses for the access license
Note: A regular institutional subscription is limited to 5 IP addresses--no wildcards or ranges can be used. A site license includes access from all IP addresses at a given location--wildcards (indicated by an asterisk *) are acceptable in both the third and fourth segments of the IP address; a range (indicated by a dash -) may be used in either the third or fourth segment but not both.

If you are subscribing through a book agent and the issues are being sent to them at their collection place, your sign-in information is to be provided by your agent.
