How to Order
1. Locate the articles you want to order using the Table of Contents or the journal’s search function.

2. Click the link to “Purchase Article” and determine the quantity and format you want to order. You may elect to receive print hard copies and/or Secure PDFs/electronic download of each article (see below for more information about each order type).

3. Follow the instructions to return to the journal content and continue ordering other articles, or to complete your order and check out.

Print Orders
Print orders are high-quality saddle-stitched “hardcopies” similar to article reprints. These articles are printed on demand when you order. Orders placed by 3 p.m. EST Monday through Friday are usually processed within 48 hours.

Secure PDF/Electronic Download
Secure PDFs purchased through ArticleWorks are small programs (.exe for Windows, .app for Macs) that contain encrypted PDFs. Our DRM (Digital Rights Management) software allows documents to be opened on one computer per license purchased. When you double-click on the .exe for the first time a pop-up window will appear and ask you to verify that this is the computer you wish to use. Once you click "Yes" the document is "locked" to that computer and your order will be debited 1 license. This can be repeated on new computers until all licenses have been used.

Windows users must be running 2000, XP, or Vista and have Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 or higher (supported language versions of Acrobat include: English, German, French, Spanish, Swedish, Portuguese, Korean, and Japanese). Macintosh users must be running Mac OS X version 10.3 or above and must enable the assistive devices control as described here.

You have access to your digital files forever; this is not a lease or time limited purchase. Internet access is only required the first time the .exe is run on a computer, to connect to our servers and confirm that licenses are still available for your order. These files must remain .exe files to work correctly; saving them as .pdf files will produce a password protected file that cannot be opened. If you wish to open the documents on multiple computers, you must purchase multiple licenses. If you intend to make additional photocopies of this PDF, please forward your request to permissions{at}diabetes.org

Custom Orders
Orders can be customized for print or electronic (secure PDF) copies. Examples of custom orders include: including the cover of the original issue in which the article appeared; creating amalgams of articles (e.g., article sets or coursepacks) to be printed and distributed as one piece; attaching a personally designed coversheet. Payment
Prepayment (in US dollars) is required for all orders (print and permission). The ArticleWorks site offers a secure environment for transmitting encrypted payment information. Orders will not ship until payment is received. Online orders may be paid with Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

Returns
Please order carefully. We do not accept returned orders or overstock unless there has been an error on our part.

Shipping and Handling
For print copy orders, shipping and handling is charged separately. You can use the shopping cart to preview shipping charges before placing your order.

Delivery Time
All print copy orders received by 3:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday, usually ship within 48 hours. Orders received after hours or on Saturday/Sunday will not be processed until the next business day.
